Voter Education

We have a dynamic voter education program.

The League of Women Voters Education Fund conducts voter service and citizen education activities. It is a nonpartisan nonprofit public policy educational organization, which:

  • Builds citizen participation in the democratic process.

  • Studies key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.

  • Enables people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.

As part of voter education, each primary and general election, the Leagues of Women Voters of the Salinas Valley and of the Monterey Peninsula team up for a Mock Election for grades 4-12 in Monterey and San Benito Counties. We have a curricular materials for teachers that help meet the California Standards in this area. More information, helpful links and teaching materials are available on the http://www.mockelection.org/ website.

Donations to the Education Fund, a 501(c)(3)corporation, are fully tax-deductible where allowed by law.
